4月12日，城市规划与设计学院部分同学在陈可石老师带领下，开始了为期四天的新加坡考察之旅。这是一次以城市为课堂的教学活动，陈老师主张城市观察体验式教学寓教于乐，通过实地调研和现场感知为同学们上了精彩生动的一课。

12日下午，我院师生一行到达旅途的第一站——新加坡国立大学。在设计与环境学院谢于遂宁教授和陈煜老师的热情接待下，一行人参观新加坡国立大学设计与环境学院工作坊和车间。随后，双方就学科设置、学生培养和就业等问题进行了交流和探讨。谢于遂宁教授表示，新加坡国立大学设计与环境学院旨在培养具有创新能力与国际化视野的学生，希望与北大可以进一步加强校际间交流和合作，学习对方的先进经验，共同进步。

13日上午，同学们开始对陈老师事先划分好的地块进行分组调研。调研的地块包括高楼林立的滨海湾、旅游胜地圣淘沙岛、购物天堂乌节路、华人商店街牛车水等。同学们以一名城市规划师的角度观察并记录着这座闻名中外的花园城市的每个细节。经过两天的考察，同学们收获颇丰，学习了许多先进的城市建设经验。
15日下午，师生一行返回学校，并对此次考察之旅进行了简短的总结。同学们纷纷表示，从这次灵活生动的教学活动中学习到的实用型设计经验，将会在以后的学习中学以致用。

Learning In The Garden City
-----The Teachers And Students In SUPD Paying a visit to Singapore On April 12th, some students in the school of urban planning and design under the leadership of the professor Chen Keshi began a four-day study tour in Singapore. This is a city classroom’s teaching and learning activity, Chen advocated urban observe experience teaching and entertaining, through site research and field awareness, and the students learned so much experience of urban design about Singapore in the unusual classroom.
Airport and orchard road In the afternoon, the group arrived at the National University of Singapore. Professor XieYu suining and Professor Chen yu of the school of Design and Environment give the group a warm welcome, and then, the group visited the workshop and model studio. Subsequently, the two groups exchange the experience about academic settings, students develop and employment. Professor XieYu suining said that the School of Design and Environment of National University of Singapore, is designed to develop students ability , innovation and international perspectives, and look forward to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Peking University, learning the advanced experience of each other and progress together.
In the morning of April 13, the students began to research each different plot as arranged.And all the research plots including the tall buildings of Marina Bay, the resort of Sentosa Island, the shopping paradise--Orchard Road, Chinese shops Street Chinatown. All students observed and record the details of each interesting space in the garden city with their camera and pen and papers.
In the afternoon of April 15, all students and teachers came back and Professor Chen made a brief summary for the study tour. All students said that they have learned a lot of experience about urban planning and design during the past 4 days.
The Singapore study tour not only open up the view of the students, but also enhance the friendship between teachers and students, and enhance the vitality and cohesion of Peking University urban design disciplines.
