Distinguished guests, professors, and my dear fellow students.：
Good morning. My name is Wang Peng, a third year student from School of Urban Planning and Design. Today, I am greatly honored and extremely excited to be here representing all students of Peking University Shenzhen and share our sincere joy welcoming new members of our school.
This is an exciting moment for you, as you begin this new chapter in your lives of discovery and accomplishment. Two year ago, just like all of you, I sat the stands at the opening ceremony, wondering what my life would be like at PKU Shenzhen and the impact my graduate years would have on my life. Now, after two years at PKU Shenzhen, I begin to discover that it is full of diversity and unlimited possibilities.
12 years ago, the Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School was begun. It was an act of imagination, and it was an act of courage, undertaken jointly by the leaders of the city of Shenzhen and the leaders of Peking University. We are here in a beautiful building, on a beautiful campus. When we look around us we see thousands of the most talented students in China, studying with some of the most accomplished professors in the world. We are the lucky students.
PKU Shenzhen itself means diversity and unlimited possibilities. It inherits Peking University’s glorious traditions, but it also commits itself to innovation, reform and internalization. These diverse academic ideals create unlimited possibilities: students here are exposed to advanced teaching methods, interdisciplinary studies and transnational culture.
The faculty members of PKU Shenzhen come from top universities all over the world, bringing their diverse culture and values with them. Their lives are not constrained to certain jobs, certain fields and certain countries. They all have an international and pioneering soul. Their diverse life experiences and international experience show us that life is full of possibilities. We should find out what our ambitions really are, and be brave enough to create possibilities for them. By talking with these exceptional professors, we not only receive knowledge, but we also open our eyes to diverse lifestyles and acquire a transnational way of thinking.
The book of Rites has “It’s easier to get a teacher of classics than a teacher of man. ", here we would get the instructing of our life direction by our professor.
While our professors show us how meaningful and exciting life can be, our peers prove no matter how impossible our dreams seem to be, as long as we continue to work hard, we can realize them. I am so proud of my peers. We are so lucky to have each other as company during our pursuit of our dreams. They are a group of hard-working young people, dedicating their time to explore new possibilities. Everyone keeps creating new possibilities for their lives. They continue to encourage and motivate each other by completing “mission impossible” again and again. Just like our professors, the students here also show nothing is impossible.
Our leisure time here is also diverse. There are many lectures waiting for us, hosted by experts in different fields from different countries. We love sports. Some of the most exciting times are the Halloween party, the New Year Party and the Night on Mirror Lake, just to name a few. Together with friends, we enjoy our lives here as we celebrate our young years and dreams.
Just after two year at PKU Shenzhen, I have already had a sense of belonging. I believe, once you start your life here, you will be impressed by our beautiful and peaceful campus, our outstanding professors and students, the international and interdisciplinary standards and our innovative and pioneering spirit. You will be influenced by the diverse culture and see new possibilities. I urge you to be brave enough to embrace these unlimited possibilities and make them into a reality.

尊敬的各位领导、老师，亲爱的同学们，大家上午好：
我是来自城市规划与设计学院2011级硕士研究生王鹏。今天，我非常荣幸也非常激动地，在此代表北京大学深圳研究生院的全体学生，对我们的新成员表示真诚的欢迎。
这一刻对你们而言是激动人心的，因为你们的人生开始了一个充满探索与收获的新篇章。和你们一样，两年前的我也坐在这里参加开学典礼。和你们一样，那时的我会畅想：我在南国燕园的生活将会是怎样的，即将在这里度过的研究生生活会对我的生活产生什么影响。两年后，我明白了自己在南国燕园的收获：接触到多元的文化和生活，体会到生活充满了无限的可能。
十二年前，北京大学深圳研究生院刚刚起步。那是北京大学和深圳市的领导者，满溢着想象也承载着勇气的共同担当。时至今日，我们有漂亮的大楼和美丽的校园，我们可以看到围坐周围的数千名来自国内的优秀学子，与来自世界各地的最优秀的教授们一起学习。我们是幸运的学子。
北京大学深圳研究生院本身就意味着多元性和无限的可能性。它在继承北京大学百年光荣传统的同时致力于创新、改革和国际化的办学理念。这一多元化、先进的办学理念为同学们带来了无限的可能：同学们可以接触到最先进的教学方法、跨学科的教学和跨国的文化。
在这里任教的教授毕业于自于世界各地的知名学府。他们带来了多元的文化和价值观。他们并没有把自己的生活局限于某个工作、某个领域甚至是某个国家。他们都有拥有跨越国界的先锋精神。他们丰富多彩的人生经历和跨国经验向我们展示了生活充满各种可能性。我们应该发现我们真正的梦想所在，并勇敢地为其创造各种可能。与教授们交流，我们获得的不仅是知识，更重要的是，我们看到了各种不同的生活方式，培养了跨国思维的模式。《礼记》有“经师易得，人师难求”，这里我们将更妥感受到们对我们人生方向的教诲。
如果说南国燕园的教授们向我们展示了生活可以如此精彩、有意义，那么我的同学们则用自己的实际行动向我们证明：无论梦想多么遥不可及，只要我们不断的努力，梦想总会实现。我非常为我的同学们感到自豪。很幸运，在追求梦想的路上我们彼此相伴。他们是一群非常努力的年轻人，把自己所有的时间贡献于探索和实现他们人生的可能性。每个人都在为他们的生活创造更多的可能性。同时，他们也通过成功攀登一个有一个不可逾越的高峰来相互激励。和教授们一样，这里的同学们也向我们展示一切皆有可能。
这里的课余生活也很丰富多彩。来自各行各业精英人士的精彩讲座在等着我们。我们还很崇尚运动。运动项目非常多元化。最激动人心的经历就是每年的万圣节派对、新年派对和镜湖之夜。我们和朋友一起享受欢乐，庆祝绽放的青春和梦想。
两年后的今天，我已经对南国燕园产生了归属感。我相信，当你们开始在这里的生活后，一定会慢慢喜欢上这个安静、美丽的校园，这里出色的教授和同学和南国燕园勇于创新的先锋精神。你将会被这里多元的文化和价值观所感染，你将看到人生充满了各种可能性。请尽情拥抱你人生的无尽可能并把他们一一变成现实吧！谢谢！
